Jorge Cazhco-Inamagua, an Ecuadorian national living in Bloomington, Minnesota, has been charged with the attempted enticement of a minor. The charge was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick.
Court documents reveal that on March 12, Cazhco-Inamagua, aged 32, tried to entice a minor under 18 years old to engage in sexually explicit conduct. At the time, Cazhco-Inamagua was in the United States illegally due to a previous removal order.
The indictment includes one count of enticement of a minor. Cazhco-Inamagua had his initial court appearance today in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge John F. Docherty. He will remain in custody until further court proceedings.
“The U.S. Attorney’s Office will continue to prioritize the prosecution of sexual predators—particularly those who would prey on minors,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick. “I am grateful to the Bloomington Police Department, to Homeland Security Investigations, and to all law enforcement officers who use undercover operations to identify and arrest child sex predators to prevent them from abusing real children.”
The investigation was conducted by the Bloomington Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew D. Evans is managing the prosecution.
It should be noted that a complaint is merely an allegation. The defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
