A Dallas resident, Christopher Jabar Jenkins, has been sentenced on charges of sex trafficking involving a minor, receiving a 15-year federal prison sentence on April 9, 2025. Prosecutors provided details of Jenkins's conduct against a 17-year-old victim during the legal proceedings. As announced by Chad E. Meacham, the Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Jenkins was also instructed to pay $82,300 in restitution.
Jenkins, aged 33, was initially indicted in August 2023, later pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking in October 2024. He received a sentence of 188 months from U.S. District Judge Karen Gren Scholer, alongside 35 years of supervised release. The presiding judge also ordered financial restitution to the victim.
Court documents reveal Jenkins's involvement in advertising the victim online, booking hotel rooms, and engaging with clients between July and November 2022. Further investigation uncovered physical violence towards the victim, threats using a firearm, and coercion involving a tattoo marking.
Prosecutors detailed the exploitation during the child's seven-day workweek, in which Jenkins accrued all earnings. The continued abuse was facilitated even after Jenkins faced unrelated charges in September 2022, subsequently transferring victim control to another trafficker. Jail communications corroborated Jenkins's control over the operations, directing commercial activities and financial transactions through associates.
The investigation was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with significant contributions from the Texas Department of Public Safety. The prosecution in the case was led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle A. Winters.
