In Annapolis, Maryland, high school students will participate in an educational program aimed at demonstrating the implications of certain choices. The "Schools in the Court" program offers an interactive experience, featuring a mock traffic stop to illustrate the legal consequences of poor decisions. Participants will engage with police officers, K-9 officers, commissioners, assistant public defenders, assistant state’s attorneys, bailiffs, clerks, and judges.
The students will listen to stories from individuals who have dealt with the legal system due to offenses like drunk driving and texting while driving. They will also watch real court cases and engage with judicial figures during a Q&A session.
A mental health component will be part of the program, focusing on its impact on youth. Conducted with mental health professionals, this segment will raise awareness and provide students with resources to recognize and address mental health crises.

Spencer of the District Court in Anne Arundel County will preside over the event, to be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 1, Anne Arundel County District Court, 251 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis.
