Ryan “Junior” Guzman, a 40-year-old resident of Honolulu, has been sentenced to 170 months in federal prison. He was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Derrick K. Watson following his guilty plea for distributing methamphetamine. Guzman admitted to distributing one pound of methamphetamine in March 2023 in a downtown Honolulu parking lot. Additionally, he admitted to possessing a "ghost gun" in June 2024, loaded with 15 hollow point rounds, in connection with his drug trafficking activities.

Acting United States Attorney Kenneth M. Sorenson made the announcement, highlighting the efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Honolulu Police Department in investigating the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne A. Myers prosecuted the case.

This sentencing falls under the umbrella of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that aims to reduce gun violence and violent crime in communities by fostering trust, supporting community-based prevention organizations, and setting strategic enforcement priorities.
