Javier Guzman-Andrade, a 41-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 168 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The sentencing was announced by Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen and took place on March 26, 2025, in an Omaha federal court. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presided over the case.
In addition to the prison term, Guzman-Andrade will undergo five years of supervised release following his incarceration. Furthermore, he is required to forfeit $10,635 in U.S. currency, which was identified as proceeds from drug activities.
The case stems from a 2023 investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Omaha Police Department. Law enforcement targeted Guzman-Andrade as a known methamphetamine distributor in the area. A state court-authorized search on November 27, 2023, at his residence resulted in the seizure of approximately eight pounds of methamphetamine. Authorities also discovered a single-shot Deringer firearm in a separate room. Forensic analysis confirmed the presence of 2,964 grams of methamphetamine.
The investigation was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation. This initiative aims to identify and dismantle high-level criminal organizations in the U.S. "OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach."
