Daniel J. Brewer, a 58-year-old resident of Polk County, Nebraska, has been sentenced in a federal court in Omaha for methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen. Brewer received a 168-month prison sentence from United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher. Following his release, Brewer will undergo a 5-year supervised release, with no parole available in the federal system.

The case against Brewer began on July 27, 2023, when a confidential source purchased 28 grams of methamphetamine from him at his residence. Subsequent searches of Brewer's home led to the discovery of approximately 875 grams of methamphetamine, along with scales, packaging materials, and live ammunition. Brewer was apprehended away from his residence with a meth pipe and the cash from the controlled purchase.

The investigation was carried out by the Columbus Police Department and the Specialized Narcotics Abuse Reduction Effort Task Force.
