Jesse Taber, a 46-year-old resident of Rotterdam, New York, received a sentence of 27 months in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a shotgun, as per a recent announcement by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Bryan Miller, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division of the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).
Taber had previously pled guilty, admitting to the possession of a 12-gauge Stoeger Coach Gun shotgun on December 26, 2023, at his home in Rotterdam. He also acknowledged having three prior felony convictions which legally barred him from possessing firearms.
United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino additionally ruled a three-year term of supervised release for Taber following his prison sentence.
The ATF conducted the investigation, receiving support from the Rotterdam Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Belliss.
