Idabel resident pleads guilty to firearm theft from licensed dealer

A resident of Idabel, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to stealing firearms from a federally licensed dealer. J’Quarius J’Vontay Austin, 18, has admitted to the charge of stealing four semi-automatic pistols.

The Indictment detailed that Austin took the firearms from the dealer on December 23, 2024. The investigation involved the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, together with the Broken Bow and Idabel Police Departments.

U.S. Magistrate Judge D. Edward Snow, of the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Austin's guilty plea and has requested a presentence investigation report. Until his sentencing, Austin will remain under the care of the United States Marshals Service.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross is handling the case for the government.
