Justice Lisa McEvers recently engaged with students from May-Port CG, Hope-Page, and Finley-Sharon during their visit to the Supreme Court. The event, which took place on March 25, 2025, involved more than 60 students and teachers who were eager to learn about the state court system.

The schools organized this visit as part of their educational trips to the capitol. During the session, Justice McEvers explained various aspects of the judiciary to May-Port CG students. Topics included non-partisan judicial elections, the process by which cases reach the supreme court, and essential skills for lawyers and judges. Following their time at the court, these students also met with Governor Kelly Armstrong.

Meanwhile, students from Finley-Sharon and Hope-Page received insights into how justices are elected and learned about the strict ethical guidelines that govern judges and justices. They also explored how judicial opinions are researched and written.

This educational experience provided valuable insights into both the legislative process and judicial functions for participating students.
