Alphonso Jimenez, a 34-year-old resident of Stockton, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearm possession related to his illegal activities. Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith announced the sentencing.
Court documents reveal that Jimenez was involved in distributing methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl. The investigation began in 2021 when local and federal law enforcement collaborated to examine the drug trafficking operations of Jimenez and his co-defendant, Erik D. Mendoza-Contreras, who is also from Stockton.
Throughout the investigation, confidential informants working with authorities purchased several pounds of narcotics from both individuals. On February 23, 2022, Jimenez delivered 28 pounds of methamphetamine to Mendoza for distribution purposes. A subsequent search at Jimenez’s residence uncovered significant quantities of drugs: 69.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 62.8 pounds of cocaine, 15 pounds of heroin, nine ounces of counterfeit M-30 pills containing fentanyl, nearly $297,000 in cash, and a firearm.
The case resulted from efforts by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the San Joaquin County Metropolitan Narcotics Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney Antonio J. Pataca prosecuted the case.
Charges are still pending against Mendoza; he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
