Tracy Gulzow, a 56-year-old resident of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison for methamphetamine distribution. The sentencing took place on March 20, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher presided over the case and imposed the sentence. After serving her time in prison, Gulzow will undergo five years of supervised release.
Gulzow's involvement in drug trafficking came to light through a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) investigation. She was linked to a Mexican-based methamphetamine trafficking organization (DTO). Initially identified as a customer in March 2022, Gulzow later assumed a distributor role by fall 2023.
On January 24, 2023, the Omaha Police Department stopped Gulzow for a traffic violation and seized nine pounds of methamphetamine from her vehicle. During questioning, she admitted to having additional meth at her residence and acknowledged receiving over 50 pounds from the DTO since becoming a distributor. Law enforcement officials found two more pounds of methamphetamine, a firearm, and $19,563 at her home.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations in the United States through coordinated efforts among various agencies. More information about OCDETF can be accessed at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
The investigation involved collaboration between the DEA, Omaha Police Department, and Bellevue Police Department.
