Jonathan Ovalle Solis, a 33-year-old from Nuevo Leon, Mexico, has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen made the announcement on March 24, 2025. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., handed down the sentence in Omaha, Nebraska.
Solis was involved as a local courier for a Mexican source supplying methamphetamine to the Omaha and Council Bluffs areas. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) used a cooperating witness who purchased one pound of meth from Solis on July 20, 2023. Surveillance during the investigation showed Solis engaging with co-conspirators and participating in suspected drug transactions, including delivering 174 grams of meth on August 23, 2023.
"There is no parole in the federal system," noted Molsen regarding Solis's sentence. After serving his time, Solis will face deportation to Mexico due to his non-citizen status.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI alongside the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
