A Davenport man, Demarcus Letrelle Culberson Jr., 22, has been sentenced to 121 months in federal prison. He was charged with possessing a firearm as a felon and having a distribution quantity of marijuana.
Court documents and evidence presented at the sentencing revealed that Culberson had marijuana both in his car and at his residence. Additionally, law enforcement discovered a loaded firearm at his home. A shell casing from an October 2023 shooting matched the firearm found at Culberson's residence. As a felon, Culberson was prohibited from possessing firearms.
Upon completing his prison sentence, Culberson will serve three years of supervised release. The federal system does not offer parole.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation was conducted by the Davenport Police Department.
