Erin Rushford, a 50-year-old former resident of Cicero, New York, received a 25-month prison sentence for her involvement in a drug trafficking organization. The group was responsible for distributing methamphetamine in Onondaga County and other parts of Central New York.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division.

Rushford had previously pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy from February 2020 through April 2021. She admitted to transporting methamphetamine from California to locations within the Northern District of New York for distribution purposes. Additionally, she confessed to receiving shipments at her home and at a relative's residence, which she then passed on to coconspirators for further distribution. Rushford also sold methamphetamine directly from her residence.

Senior United States District Judge David N. Hurd mandated that following her prison term, Rushford will serve three years under supervised release and must forfeit $3,160.

The investigation involved multiple agencies including the DEA, U.S. Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), New York State Police-Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (NYSP-VGNET), Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, Syracuse Police Department, Oklahoma City Police Department, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie handled the prosecution.
