Atikur Razzaque, a 28-year-old resident of Ozone Park, New York, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for charges related to alien smuggling and conspiracy. The announcement was made by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Chief Border Patrol Agent Robert N. Garcia from the United States Border Patrol's Swanton Sector.

Razzaque had previously pleaded guilty to the charges. He confessed that on September 21, 2024, he traveled to the northern border near Westville, New York, where he facilitated the illegal entry of three Bangladeshi citizens into the United States for profit. Additionally, Razzaque admitted to having smuggled other individuals across the border on prior occasions.

The case was investigated by the United States Border Patrol and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Paulbeck.
