ENRIQUE TORRES-BEIZA, also known as "Enrique B. Torres," has been indicted for re-entering the United States after being deported. The indictment was filed on March 13, 2025, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson.
The charges against Torres-Beiza stem from an incident on or about October 26, 2024, when he was found in the Eastern District of Louisiana after having been officially deported on December 26, 2018.
If convicted of re-entry of a removed alien under Title 8, United States Code, Section 1326(a), Torres-Beiza faces up to two years in prison, a fine up to $250,000, up to one year of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America. This initiative utilizes resources from the Department of Justice to combat illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime. It combines efforts from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood.
Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson emphasized that an indictment is merely a charge and that guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Simpson acknowledged the work done by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office in this investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice Jr., from the General Crimes Unit, will lead the prosecution.
