Freeman L. Johnson, Jr., a 47-year-old resident of Omaha, Nebraska, has been sentenced to 180 months in federal prison for drug-related offenses and firearm possession. The sentencing took place on March 14, 2025, in Omaha's federal court. Acting United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen announced the details of the case.
Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. delivered the sentence: 120 months for drug charges and an additional consecutive 60 months for firearms charges. Johnson will also forfeit $9,005 in drug proceeds and serve a five-year supervised release following his prison term.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations' Safe Streets Task Force conducted an operation using a cooperating source to purchase crack cocaine from Johnson at his residence near the 46th block of Reddick Avenue on four separate occasions between December 2023 and January 2024.
Following these transactions, officers obtained a search warrant for Johnson's residence, executed on February 8, 2024. The search resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of methamphetamine and crack cocaine, as well as firearms and cash related to drug trafficking activities.
Johnson's prior felony convictions prohibit him from possessing firearms. His criminal history includes convictions for delivery and possession of cocaine dating back to 2001 and 2003.
The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigations' Safe Streets Task Force.
