California DOJ investigates LAPD officer-involved shooting under AB 1506

California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced that the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Los Angeles. The investigation, which follows the guidelines set by Assembly Bill 1506, began after a shooting incident on March 14, 2025, involving the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident resulted in one fatality.

The DOJ’s California Police Shooting Investigation Team started their investigation following notification from local authorities. Once completed, the findings will be reviewed independently by the DOJ's Special Prosecutions Section within the Criminal Law Division.
