A man from Hot Springs, Arkansas, has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine. Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey presided over the sentencing at the United States District Court in Hot Springs.
Court records indicate that during narcotics investigations in the Hot Springs and Garland County area, the 18th East Judicial District Drug Task Force identified Antwon Lakeith Burns, 41, as a drug dealer. On April 10, 2024, investigators conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Burns. The substance was sent to the DEA crime lab and confirmed to be 52.9 grams of pure methamphetamine.
Burns pleaded guilty on October 7, 2024, to distributing more than fifty grams of methamphetamine.
U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes announced the sentencing. The case was investigated by the 18th Judicial District East Drug Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations Little Rock. Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Daniels prosecuted the case for the United States.
