Marquitta Holloman, a 36-year-old resident of Washington D.C., has pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault while armed. The plea is in connection with a stabbing incident that took place on September 13, 2023, in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, S.E. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Holloman entered her guilty plea on March 11, 2025, before Judge Michael Ryan, who set the sentencing date for May 13, 2025.

The government's evidence detailed that around 11:00 p.m. on the night of the incident, Holloman engaged in a verbal argument with the victim at the location mentioned above. Following the argument's conclusion, as the victim walked away towards her daughter who was nearby, Holloman attacked. She stabbed the victim's daughter in the neck before turning her attention back to the victim and inflicting multiple stab wounds to her face and head. Both were hospitalized for their injuries; notably, the victim had to undergo surgery to remove her right eye due to severe damage.

Surveillance footage from Savoy Elementary School assisted MPD officers and detectives in identifying Holloman as the attacker. She was subsequently arrested on January 8, 2024.

In their announcement of Holloman's plea deal, U.S. Attorney Martin and Chief Smith praised those involved in investigating this case within the Metropolitan Police Department and acknowledged Assistant United States Attorney Ella Gladman for her role in investigating and prosecuting it.
