The Vermont Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules for Electronic Filing has scheduled a meeting for March 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM. The agenda includes several business items aimed at improving electronic filing processes.
One of the key topics is an update on e-filing for PRB Hearing Panel cases. Reporter Wetherell will be arranging the first meeting for a subcommittee dedicated to this matter.
Another important issue involves court notices to self-represented litigants. The Civil Rules Committee has referred an issue regarding the 2020 V.R.E.F. 11(f) rule, which mandates that all notices and orders be sent electronically to e-filers. However, currently, the e-notice system functions only for attorneys. Marcia Schels will provide insights into potential updates to this system.
J. Dooley is expected to report on proposed changes to the language of electronic certification from a subcommittee focused on this area.
Additionally, J. Fenster has requested an amendment to V.R.E.F. 9(d) to align with current practices.
The committee's next meeting was initially scheduled for June 13, 2025, but due to judicial college commitments, it will be rescheduled for Friday, June 6.
