Attorney General Aaron M. Frey has announced a settlement with Sanofi-Aventis U.S. LLC concerning the pricing of insulin products. This agreement allows uninsured Mainers and those with commercial health insurance to purchase monthly supplies of Sanofi insulin products for $35 through 2029. The covered products include Admelog, Lantus, Toujeo, Apidra, and any biosimilar marketed by Sanofi in the U.S.

"Insulin is life-sustaining medication and far too many Mainers struggle to afford it," stated Attorney General Frey. "My Office will continue to closely monitor drug pricing and take action to protect consumers to ensure access to these essential medications."

Sanofi has also agreed to implement an enrollment message program aimed at helping pharmacists and patients determine eligibility for this low-cost insulin option. The system will notify pharmacists about patient eligibility at pharmacy counters throughout Maine when prescriptions are filled.

Residents interested in potential savings should inquire with their pharmacist when filling their prescription.
