The deadline for applications for a part-time justice court judge position in Hyrum, Utah has been extended. This position will serve the communities of Hyrum, Mendon, Paradise, and Nibley. It is intended to replace Judge Paul Larsen, who is set to retire in June.
Candidates seeking this judgeship in Cache County must meet several criteria. They need to be at least 25 years old, a United States citizen, and have been a Utah resident for at least three years. Additionally, they must possess a law degree that qualifies them to apply for bar admission in any U.S. state. Applicants are also required to reside in Cache County, Box Elder County, Rich County, or Weber County either upon appointment or before assuming their duties.

Utah law stipulates that the Judicial Nominating Commission must present at least three nominees to Mayor Stephanie Miller within 45 days of its initial meeting. Mayor Miller will then have 30 days to select a finalist whose selection requires ratification by the Hyrum City Council and certification by the Utah Judicial Council.
