A Chesterfield man, Urain Alexander Robinson, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The sentencing took place in Richmond, Virginia.
Court documents reveal that on May 18, 2023, Robinson was contacted by a co-conspirator (CC1) seeking to purchase cocaine. Robinson transported multiple kilograms of the drug from his home to CC1's residence in Hopewell and distributed it there. Shortly after, another co-conspirator (CC2) collected three kilograms of the cocaine from CC1's house but was stopped by police soon after leaving.
Police recovered the cocaine and seized $8,381 in drug-trafficking proceeds from Robinson’s residence on May 14, 2024.
Robinson has previous convictions dating back to 1992 for possession with intent to distribute heroin and other offenses in Virginia. In 1993, he was convicted in New Jersey for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He also faced similar charges in the Eastern District of Virginia in 2005.
The announcement was made by Erik S. Siebert, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Ibrar A. Mian, Special Agent in Charge for the DEA’s Washington Division. The investigation received assistance from the Chesterfield County Police Department.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ellen Hubbard prosecuted the case as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations through a multi-agency approach.
