A man has been sentenced for crimes involving burglary and firearm use in Tulsa, Oklahoma. U.S. District Judge John D. Russell handed down a sentence of 168 months to Bryce Tyler Pyle, aged 36, following his conviction for First Degree Burglary in Indian Country and Carrying, Using, and Brandishing a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence. Pyle will also face five years of supervised release after serving his prison term.
The incident occurred in July 2024 when Pyle drove to the home of his former girlfriend with their child present in the vehicle. Upon arrival, he forcibly entered her residence by kicking open the door and brandished a handgun at her and another individual inside. Despite being asked to leave by his former girlfriend, Pyle discharged his firearm towards the house as he returned to his car.
After leaving the scene with their child visibly distressed in the backseat, Pyle was persuaded by his former girlfriend over the phone to return the child. He re-entered the home upon returning and caused damage to property before police intervened and detained him.
Pyle is identified as a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and will remain under custody until he is transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
The investigation was conducted by both the FBI and Tulsa Police Department, while Assistant U.S. Attorney John W. Dowdell led the prosecution.
