Office of the Attorney General announced it has completed thereview of three incidents involving officer-involved shootings.
These include aJanuary 19, 2024, incident in Jackson involving one deputy with the HindsCounty Sheriff’s Office; a February 17, 2024, incident in Belden involving onecorporal with the Tupelo Police Department; and a March 1, 2024, incident inMeridian involving one deputy with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.
In all three incidents, the Attorney General’s Office found the use of force wasjustified. Pursuant to Section 45-1-6 of the Mississippi Code, the reviews followed an investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
