A Mineola resident has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking offenses in the Eastern District of Texas. Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. announced that Bobby Wayne Land, 48, was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Jeremy Kernodle on March 7, 2025.
Land had previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The case involved a search conducted by law enforcement officers on February 28, 2023, at Land's residence in Van Zandt County. During the search, approximately 205 grams of methamphetamine were discovered. Land admitted ownership and intent to distribute the drugs.
In connection with this case, co-defendant Preston Mitchell Wilson received a sentence of 120 months in federal prison on January 17, 2025. Danny Lynn Nabors was also sentenced on the same day to 96 months in federal prison.
The investigation was carried out by multiple agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Grand Saline Police Department; the Canton Police Department; and the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alan Jackson prosecuted the case.
