A Louisville man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for drug and firearms charges. Dominique Lewis, aged 24, received the sentence for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy, as well as possessing firearms related to drug trafficking crimes. The sentencing was announced by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, Acting Special Agent in Charge A.J. Gibes of the ATF Louisville Field Division, and Chief Paul Humphrey of the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Court documents reveal that Lewis conspired to distribute methamphetamine from October 17, 2022, through April 27, 2023. During this period, he distributed methamphetamine on twelve occasions and possessed firearms illegally on multiple occasions due to his status as a convicted felon.
Lewis's previous convictions include two counts of theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief from August 3, 2020; receiving stolen property and other offenses from August 3, 2021; and another count of theft by unlawful taking from March 10, 2022.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) along with the Louisville Metro Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Porter prosecuted the case with support from paralegal Aaron Cooper.
This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening the United States.
