A federal grand jury in Pittsburgh has indicted a Grove City, Pennsylvania resident on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

Michael William Boston, aged 40, is named as the sole defendant in the four-count indictment. The charges allege that between October 2022 and July 2023, Boston transported material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor across state lines. Additionally, he is accused of possessing such material as recently as October 11, 2024.

If convicted, Boston faces a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The actual sentence will depend on the seriousness of the offenses and any prior criminal history.

Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher is leading the prosecution for this case. The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. This program involves collaboration among federal, state, and local resources to apprehend and prosecute offenders while identifying and rescuing victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.

It should be noted that an indictment is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
