Quintin Green, a member of the Ninedee Gang, was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the murder of Shatavia Walls, a former federal witness. The sentencing took place in Brooklyn's federal court and was presided over by United States District Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall. Green pleaded guilty in April 2024 to causing Walls' death using firearms and also admitted to an attempted robbery at a Staten Island Target store.

United States Attorney John J. Durham stated, "The calculated murder of Shatavia Walls by members and associates of the Ninedee Gang arose from a twisted desire to murder her in retaliation for her federal testimony and perceived disrespect of the gang." He added that Green shot an unarmed woman "to make a name for himself" but should be recognized as "a cowardly killer."

FBI Acting Assistant Director Leslie R. Backschies commented on the crime's impact: "Along with other Ninedee members, Quintin Green targeted and callously killed Shatavia Walls and then bragged across social media about his abhorrent crimes." NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch remarked, "Today, we are bringing a cold-blooded murderer to justice," emphasizing efforts against violent gangs.

Walls was targeted due to her testimony against a Ninedee Gang member in 2019 and confrontations with gang members on July 4, 2020. She was seen as a high-value target because of these actions. On July 7, 2020, she was shot multiple times by Green and co-defendant Joe Santana at the Pink Houses complex.

Other individuals involved include Maliek Miller, who is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of murder related to racketeering; Joe Santana received a 22-year sentence; Chayanne Fernandez awaits sentencing; Kevin Wint received a sentence of over nine years; Shakur Bey got five years; Raquel Dunton faces charges related to accessory after-the-fact actions.

The case is managed by the Office’s Organized Crime and Gang Section with assistance from several prosecutors and analysts.
