Elijah Shores, a 30-year-old resident of Irving, Texas, has been sentenced to 200 months in prison. The sentencing was delivered by United States District Court Chief Judge Holly A. Brady after Shores pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl, possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay announced the sentence.
Following his prison term, Shores will be subject to four years of supervised release. The investigation leading to this conviction was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with support from the Indiana State Police and the Fort Wayne Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery prosecuted the case.
This legal action is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative that collaborates with law enforcement at various levels and community groups to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
