Cedrick Dion Tyron Griffin, a 26-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The sentence was handed down in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

The Fairmont Police Department's investigation into a shooting led them to Griffin. During the investigation, searches were conducted at his Morgantown apartment, his vehicle, and a hotel room registered under his name. These searches resulted in the discovery of $28,000 in cash, 144 grams of fentanyl, over 1,100 grams of methamphetamine, and a firearm.

Griffin's criminal history includes charges such as obstructing or assaulting a police officer, attempted murder, wanton endangerment, malicious wounding, drug trafficking and witness intimidation.

In addition to his prison term, Griffin will be subject to four years of supervised release following his incarceration.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Flower represented the government in this case. The investigation was carried out by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force as part of a HIDTA-funded initiative. Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the proceedings.
