A 25-year-old resident of Laredo, Texas, has pleaded guilty to charges of receiving and possessing child pornography. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.
Eduardo Rosas admitted to having numerous images and video files depicting child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his iPhone. The investigation commenced when authorities discovered the upload of CSAM onto a Kik account, which Rosas owned.
During the investigation, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Rosas's residence, seizing several electronic devices, including an Apple iPhone 11. Rosas acknowledged ownership of both the Kik account and the phone.
Forensic analysis uncovered 43 images, 99 video files, and 85 thumbnail files containing CSAM. Some materials included bondage, infants, bestiality, and sadistic content.
U.S. District Judge Diana Saldaña will determine sentencing at a later date. Rosas faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a possible maximum fine of $250,000. He remains in custody pending sentencing.
