Luis Daniel Mejia-Gomez, a 41-year-old Honduran national, has been sentenced to ten months in prison for illegal reentry into the United States. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Malachy E. Mannion on February 27, 2025.

Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that Mejia-Gomez had been previously removed from the U.S. in 2001, 2007, and most recently in 2020 after being convicted and sentenced for illegal reentry. His latest encounter with U.S. authorities occurred following a conviction for driving under the influence in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.

Following the completion of his sentence, Mejia-Gomez will be removed from the United States once again.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Scalera prosecuted the case.
