Sunrise Elementary School's fifth-grade classes, led by Mrs. Jennifer Erp, visited the state capitol on February 27th. The group of approximately 90 students and chaperones had the opportunity to meet with Justice Douglas Bahr at the Supreme Court.
Justice Bahr spoke about the judiciary's role and responsibilities, providing insights from his experience as a judge and justice. He also answered questions from the students, who were curious about various aspects of court proceedings, including trial durations, sentencing, and case types.
Mrs. Erp organizes this annual trip to help students learn about government branches.
