On February 18, 2025, Sheldon Terrell Peters was sentenced to 105 months in prison by United States District Court Judge William H. Steele for cocaine trafficking. The sentence includes 75 months for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and an additional 30 months for violating supervised release conditions from a previous federal conviction in 2017 for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Court documents revealed that between September and October 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Violent Crimes Task Force utilized an undercover informant to conduct three controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Peters at his Mobile residence. The quantities involved were 47.5 grams, 46.3 grams, and 105.6 grams of crack cocaine.

The investigation was carried out by the FBI and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, with Assistant United States Attorney George F. May handling the prosecution.
