A Reston man, Xavier Dejuan Jackson, has been sentenced to 19 years in prison for sexually exploiting minors he met online. This decision follows an investigation that began when Customs and Border Protection Officers conducted a secondary inspection of Jackson's devices upon his arrival at Dulles International Airport on July 1, 2024. The inspection revealed several videos and images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
According to court documents, Jackson initiated contact with Minor Victim 1 via a social media application in January 2024. After learning she was 17 years old, he transported her across state lines for sexual activity multiple times. Each encounter was recorded on his cellphone and shared with the victim through Snapchat.
In February 2024, Jackson communicated with Minor Victim 2 on Instagram. Despite being informed that she was only 14 years old, he continued to engage in sexually explicit conversations and directed her to produce explicit videos for him. These were stored under her name alongside three videos of her engaging in sexual activity.
Jackson also attempted to meet Minor Victim 2 for sexual activity, discussing potential locations where he could pick her up. His arrest occurred shortly after returning from a trip abroad on July 1, 2024.
On another occasion, Jackson contacted someone he believed was a minor on Snapchat in February 2024. He misrepresented his age as 19 and paid $45 via PayPal for nude depictions which turned out to be from a person who was actually 19 years old.
Jackson pled guilty on November 21, 2024, to charges including the sexual exploitation of a child and attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.
The case announcement came from Erik S. Siebert, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, along with Christopher Heck from ICE HSI Washington D.C., following sentencing by Judge Michael S. Nachmanoff. Assistant U.S. Attorney Vanessa K. Strobbe prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation through collaboration among federal, state, and local resources.
