Vero Beach man found guilty in meth distribution case

A federal jury in South Florida has found Denzil Olajuwon Stewart guilty of narcotics distribution crimes. Stewart, 30, was convicted for selling 276.7 grams of pure methamphetamine.

The incident occurred on December 28, 2023, when law enforcement observed Stewart leaving his Vero Beach home in a white Porsche SUV. He drove to another residence about half an hour away and sold the methamphetamine to a buyer. The substance was later resold by the buyer to a confidential informant, with Stewart's fingerprints found on the plastic shopping bag containing the drugs.

Stewart was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual and distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine actual. His sentencing could range from ten years to life imprisonment.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida; Special Agent in Charge Deanne L. Reuter of the DEA, Miami Field Division; and Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers.

The case was investigated by DEA Port Saint Lucie and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Hudock and Michael Porter led the prosecution.
