A Kissimmee man, Pooran Ramjattan, has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for attempting to entice a minor into sexual activity. U.S. District Judge Julie Sneed delivered the sentence following Ramjattan's guilty plea on November 21, 2024.

Court documents reveal that on May 1, 2024, an undercover FBI agent posed as a 13-year-old girl online. After contacting the account and learning the supposed child's age, Ramjattan engaged in sexually explicit conversations and arranged a meeting in Orange County for sexual purposes. Upon his arrival at the agreed location, law enforcement arrested him.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation alongside the Orlando Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program unites federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. More information can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
