A man from Madisonville, Louisiana, Alvarez Joseph Cyprian, aged 23, has been sentenced for his involvement in a fentanyl distribution conspiracy. On February 11, 2025, Cyprian received a sentence of five years probation and was ordered to pay a $200 mandatory special assessment fee after pleading guilty to charges related to the distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Court documents reveal that on September 8, 2023, Cyprian sold fentanyl pills to an undercover agent. The transaction took place in Covington where Cyprian exchanged 200 fentanyl pills for $550.
The investigation into this case was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations along with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Rachal Cassagne from the Narcotics Unit is responsible for overseeing the prosecution.
