Three individuals were sentenced to federal prison for unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation or removal. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, Special Agent in Charge Rana Saoud of Homeland Security Investigations Nashville, and Sam Olson, Field Office Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Chicago.
Jose Alcides Ramirez-Vasquez, 32, a citizen of El Salvador, received a sentence of seven months in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release. According to court documents, he was found in Warren County, Kentucky on December 4, 2021, after having been deported on November 4, 2013.
Carlos Mendoza-Zapata, 35, a citizen of Mexico, was sentenced to fourteen months in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release. He was located in Warren County on December 1, 2023. His prior deportations occurred on October 21, 2016; April 22, 2022; and April 7, 2023.
Jenaro Heron Mendoza-Hernandez, 36, also a citizen of Mexico, received a sentence of one year and one day in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release. He was found in Warren County on May 9, 2024. His previous deportations took place on November 30, 2020; and October 6, 2021.
The cases were investigated by ERO-Louisville and HSI-Bowling Green with Assistant U.S. Attorney Madison Sewell prosecuting them.
There is no parole available within the federal system.
