A West Virginia resident has been sentenced for his involvement in a drug trafficking operation in the Northern District of West Virginia. Joshua Noel, 42, from Elkins, West Virginia, received a sentence of 78 months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Court documents and statements revealed that Noel was involved in a drug trafficking organization based in Monongalia County, which distributed large quantities of controlled substances over six years. The organization originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and transported between five to ten pounds of methamphetamine per trip to Morgantown.

Following his prison term, Noel will undergo three years of supervised release. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley is handling the prosecution for the government. The investigation was conducted by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, supported by HIDTA funding. U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided over the case.
