Hamed A. Martin, a 42-year-old resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been sentenced to 84 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine. The sentencing was carried out by United States District Court Chief Judge Holly Brady following Martin's guilty plea, as announced by Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
In addition to the prison term, Martin will undergo four years of supervised release. According to case documents, Martin engaged in methamphetamine distribution multiple times in July 2022. A search warrant executed at his home in August 2022 led to the discovery of a firearm and evidence related to drug distribution.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Gang Task Force, which includes participation from the FBI, Indiana State Police, Allen County Sheriff’s Department, and Fort Wayne Police Department. The Drug Enforcement Administration and its North Central Laboratory also contributed to the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Stacey R. Speith prosecuted the case.
This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) initiative aimed at dismantling high-level criminal networks through a collaborative approach involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
Additionally, the case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program designed to reduce violent crime and gun violence by fostering community trust and supporting organizations that prevent violence. Launched on May 26, 2021, this strategy emphasizes focused enforcement priorities and measures results to enhance neighborhood safety.
