Rodney S. Knotts, a 55-year-old resident of Ravenna, Ohio, has confessed to unlawfully possessing firearms. This admission took place in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Court documents reveal that Knotts was found with eight firearms in Ritchie County, West Virginia. His previous felony drug conviction in Ohio prohibits him from owning firearms.
Knotts could face a maximum prison sentence of 15 years. The final sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney William Rhee. The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the proceedings.
