Duane A. Evans, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Tammy Thompson, a 56-year-old resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana, pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony on February 4, 2025. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Brandon Long. Sentencing is set for May 13, 2025. Thompson could face up to three years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, one year of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment fee.

Court records indicate that law enforcement observed Thompson's son, Earl Henry Jr., purchasing narcotics from Roy Robinson in a parking lot. After the transaction, Robinson placed two bags into Henry Jr.'s vehicle. Henry Jr. returned to the residence he shared with his mother and briefly went inside before leaving again and being detained by law enforcement.

Officers suspected that Henry Jr. had moved the bags into Thompson's house and obtained a search warrant while surveilling the residence to prevent evidence destruction or concealment by Thompson. Surveillance footage captured Thompson removing the bags from her home and placing them in a nearby parked vehicle.

Law enforcement later executed the search warrant and seized approximately 7,227 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle where Thompson had placed the bags. By relocating the methamphetamine after her son's detention, Thompson concealed evidence related to her son's drug trafficking activities.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) operation aimed at disrupting high-level criminal organizations through a collaborative multi-agency approach led by prosecutors.

Additionally, this case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce violent crime and enhance community safety through strategic partnerships between law enforcement agencies and communities.

United States Attorney Evans commended efforts by multiple agencies including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Louisiana State Police, Thibodaux Police Department, Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney Stuart Theriot is prosecuting this case within the Narcotics Unit.
