A Louisville man has been sentenced to over eight years in federal prison for cocaine distribution and a firearm offense. Roger Bailey, 42, received a sentence of eight years and one month, followed by three years of supervised release. The charges included conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, Special Agent in Charge R. Shawn Morrow of the ATF Louisville Field Division, and Chief Paul Humphrey of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Court documents reveal that between April 9, 2024, and May 29, 2024, Bailey conspired with others to sell cocaine on four occasions. A search warrant executed on May 29 at his residence on South 29th Street led to the seizure of cocaine, firearms including a Mossberg rifle and Glock pistol, as well as ammunition.

Federal parole is not available in this case.

The investigation was conducted by the ATF with assistance from the Louisville Metro Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erwin Roberts is handling the prosecution.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The program emphasizes trust-building within communities, support for violence prevention organizations, strategic enforcement priorities, and result measurement.
