Antonio Laringo Knox, a 53-year-old resident of Midwest City, has been sentenced to over 13 years in federal prison for manufacturing crack cocaine and illegal firearm possession. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
Knox faced charges after a federal grand jury returned a Superseding Indictment on January 17, 2024. He was charged with manufacturing cocaine base and being a felon in possession of firearms, among other offenses. A federal jury convicted him on November 7, 2024, following a two-day trial.
Evidence presented during the trial showed that Oklahoma City Police Department officers executed a search warrant at Knox's home on September 12, 2023. They discovered cocaine base, razor blades, digital scales, ammunition, and firearms. Knox admitted to manufacturing the cocaine base found at his residence.
U.S. District Judge Stephen P. Friot sentenced Knox to serve 160 months in federal prison on January 31, 2025. This will be followed by eight years of supervised release. In his sentencing remarks, Judge Friot considered the nature of the offense and Knox’s criminal history.
Public records indicate that Knox has previous convictions in Oklahoma County District Court for conspiring to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (case number CF-2004-3693) and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction (case number CF-2006-6617).
The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives alongside the Oklahoma City Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen Hoch and Matthew Anderson were responsible for prosecuting the case.
