A federal complaint has been unsealed against Gustavo Gordillo, a 41-year-old Guatemalan national, for charges related to the transportation, distribution, and possession of child pornography. This was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
The affidavit supporting the criminal complaint states that in July 2020, the Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) received a cyber tip about files containing child sexual abuse material uploaded to a Google Photos account. The suspect was identified as Gordillo, residing in Oklahoma City. OCPD detectives investigated this tip along with others from Facebook and discovered Gordillo had communicated with a child living out of state. The affidavit further claims that Gordillo exchanged child sexual abuse material with the child.
In December 2024, further investigation led law enforcement to an Oklahoma City metro residence linked to Gordillo. He was charged on January 27, 2025, and arrested by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and OCPD on January 29, 2025.
Public records indicate that Gordillo entered the United States on a temporary visa which has since expired.
If convicted of these charges, Gordillo could face up to sixty years in federal prison. It is important to note that these charges are allegations at this stage; Gordillo is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
This case is being investigated by HSI and OCPD with Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon prosecuting.
