Jody D. Webb and Jason Unruh have been sentenced in federal court for their involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. United States Attorney Susan T. Lehr announced the sentences on January 31, 2025. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. sentenced Webb to 75 months and Unruh to 188 months in prison. Both will face supervised release following their prison terms, with Webb receiving a two-year term and Unruh a five-year term.
The investigation began on August 3, 2023, when FBI surveillance observed Unruh meeting with codefendant Jonathan Ovalle-Solis. During this meeting, Unruh was seen exiting Ovalle's vehicle with a package that appeared to contain a white substance, which was recorded by the FBI.
Further investigation through a TextNow search warrant revealed communications between Unruh and his known Mexican meth supplier, coordinated by Ovalle-Solis. The messages indicated that Unruh arranged to pick up pound quantities of meth multiple times in August and September of 2023.
On October 17, 2023, law enforcement observed Webb meeting with a suspected drug courier. Following this meeting, officers conducted a traffic stop on Webb's vehicle and found approximately two pounds of meth inside. Phone records confirmed that Webb had organized the deal with the same Mexican supplier.
Jonathan Ovalle Solis has pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges and is scheduled for sentencing on February 14, 2025.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
