Susan T. Lehr, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the District of Nebraska

United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced that Jaden Stuart, 32, from Omaha, Nebraska, received a federal court sentence on January 29, 2025. Stuart was charged with possession with intent to distribute 10 grams or more of fentanyl analogue. United States District Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced him to 36 months in prison. The federal system does not allow parole. After serving his sentence, Stuart will be subject to a two-year supervised release period.

The charges stem from an incident on November 24, 2023, when the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 80. Kyle Bahnsen was driving the vehicle and Jaden Stuart was the passenger. During the stop, NSP performed a probable cause search and discovered approximately 59 small blue pills marked M-30 identified as fentanyl pills, along with 13.3 grams of white substance testing positive for fentanyl and 1.4 grams of methamphetamine. These narcotics were intended for distribution.

Kyle Bahnsen received his sentence on September 19, 2024: he was given a term of imprisonment lasting one year and one day followed by three years of supervised release.

The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Drug Overdose Task Force investigated this case.
